This document provides an overview of the CS3MESH4EOSC project offered by the Coordinator Jakub T. Mościcki from CERN during the Kick-Off Meeting in Copenhagen on the 27th of January 2020.
The exponential increase in the use and implementation of digital technologies for collaboration in research has shown to be crucial during this pandemic time. Being able to effectively work together from different countries, while ensuring digital sovereignty of data is essential for everyday scientific and industrial practices.
The Science Mesh aims to create a federated infrastructure of sync-and-share services hosted by various organisations world-wide. The project, that is funded by the European Union, has kicked-off in January 2020. SURFdrive and Research Drive are well-known examples of sync-and-share services.
