Service Providers

Join the Science Mesh as early adopter, able to build sync & share capabilities through the already existing storage EFSS (Enterprise File Sync&Share) platforms.

To implement the Science Mesh, service providers would have to open their service sufficiently such that they can plug into the mesh and be interoperable with other providers.

In the first phase of the project, three service providers would be included in the mesh.

To gain their continued support, the Science Mesh team  continuously engages with  these organisations.

Helping service providers meet their business objectives while also ensuring that the needs of the researchers are adequately fullfilled is an activity that would need more study.

Nonetheless, by starting with these three providers, we hope to gain crucial insight on the business case for joining the mesh.

With a successful first phase, the long-term goal is to welcome other providers such as Dropbox, Amazon, Microsoft and Google to also be part of the mesh in the future.

Service providers are facing many challenges that our main asset, the Science Mesh, can overcome.

Integrate new applications services, risking the QoS provision and increase of the service costs.
Lack of standard APIs and interoperability for applications
Ensure easier long-term data custodianship and its seamless access.

Helping service providers meet their business objectives while also ensuring that researchers are adequately served is an activity that would need more research.
