Ron Trompert
Ron Trompert is the group leader of the Online Data Services group at SURF.
He is responsible for the SURF Object Storage service, SURFdrive, a sync-and-share service for Dutch higher education, Research Drive, a research data sharing solution and the online storage system tailored for research data. He has been involved in setting up the infrastructure for the Dutch LHC Tier1 centre and the LOFAR Long Term Archive. He has studied Aerospace Engineering at the Delft University of Technology, got a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Amsterdam and did postdoctoral work at the Department of Theoretical Geophysics at Utrecht University. Before his employment at SURF, he was working at a company called Origin B.V., where is was involved in software engineering projects for ESA.
