Blogpost: From endangered languages to the Science Mesh - petascale FAIR data repositories

The Science Mesh is a rich ecosystem for frictionless scientific collaboration and access to research services, where data, applications and computation are brought together to enable federated usage within and across scientific domains. The Science Mesh also encourages FAIR data practices and provides the opportunity for the user to both access to new research services, as well as contribute to the development of the Science Mesh itself. Marco La Rosa, from the Pacific and Regional Archive for Digital Sources in Endangered Cultures - (PARADISEC), The University of Melbourne and UTS has been rebuilding the core storage component of the PARADISEC archive as a foundation for their next-generation FAIR data archive. Read the blogpost from Marco below to find out more about the knowledge and tools crossing over from PARADISEC and UTS to the Science Mesh

Science Mesh – How to commercialise science to impact European Industry? An interview with Angelo Romasanta

“In today’s global world, generating new knowledge and turning it into new products and services is crucial to maintain and enhance the EU’s competitiveness. Transforming the results of scientific research into new commercial products is, however, a complex process involving a broad range of actors. We need to ensure that researchers and industry work closely together and maximise the social and economic benefits of new ideas” (Source: “Improving knowledge transfer between research institutions and industry across Europe”)

Science Mesh Workshop

Science Mesh workshop – showcasing a solid foundation ready to expand data daily workflows & improve Sync&Share services

The half-day workshop “Moving towards the Adoption Phase for Science Mesh”, organised by the CS3MESH4EOSC project, took place last 28th January, co-located with the CS3 2021 Conference. Focused on the adoption, roll-out and implementation of Science Mesh, the workshop brought together over 100 international professionals from the Cloud Storage Services for Synchronization and Sharing (CS3) community, along with key players from the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). The Science Mesh Workshop initiated a collaborative dialogue with early adopters and potential vendors that will contribute throughout the development, deployment and adoption of the Science Mesh.
